Sorry for the delay in posting, I had a wisdom tooth removed on Monday and wasn't all that coherent yesterday.

I'm off to the National Youth Workers Conference in Atlanta tomorrow. It should be a great time. If you watched the news yesterday, the national media was making a big deal about Atlanta. They are in the midst of a major drought. The city officials, mainly the mayor, are taking a lot of flack for having a service to pray for rain. One news station asked the question.. "what does it mean if rain doesn't come?" It's an interesting question. On some level, I wish that God had opened up the skies as soon as the prayer occurred. To prove Himself to those who doubt. However, they probably would have just written it off as coincidence. For all of humanity's advancements, we haven't come all that far in reason. We are still saying, as Pharaoh did, "if you're God is real , show me." He has done so countless times and yet we need just a little more. Our human condition is such that we are unable to look completely away from the topic of God. People always have an opinion on the subject. And yet, we always need just a bit more 'proof'. If your god fits into a definition, formula, or neat little package, then your god is too small. I don't claim to know the will of God, or why it did not rain during that prayer, but I do know that God is not intimidated by out doubts. And I know that my God is big enough and powerful enough not to be blackmailed into something.

I too pray for rain in those areas affected by the drought. I hope rain comes in the perfect amount. I hope that with the very public prayer on TV yesterday, came lots of unseen prayers by those same people. I hope that faith continues to endure in whatever situations we find ourselves crying out to our Lord about.

Yes, even when you show people miracles, they can still find ways to ignore them.
