What does it say about the nature of our relationship to God?
What are we to watch out for?
What things are we not to do?
How does verse 23 interact with today's brand of Christianity?
How should it?

I think Colossians 2 is a testament to the functionality and purpose of the early church, and a great test of whether today's church is working.
First, Paul sets a great example of how to love others within the church. Then he openly warns us to avoid the teachings of the world.
It gives us the image we're all familiar with... the 'body' with Christ as the head... to reaffirm the focus of the church should be on God alone.
In between discussions on the church Paul has a bunch of cool stuff describing and encouraging us in our personal relationships with Christ.
Finally in the last few verses it focuses in on the laws and rules that we all love (because they seem to make things easier) and says that we are missing the point if we become so legalistic (A problem I believe much of the modern church doesn't recognize).

Good chapter.
